Tattered Lace - MDF Teapot

Good Morning!

Another project for you - this Teapot will be on our C&C show at the weekend (28th of March!)

I have covered the mdf teapot with a spot paper from a Dreamees cd, distressed the edges using gathered twigs distress ink pad. I then added a matt and layered piece across the teapot to which I added a strip of lace at the bottom. I cut the circle stamen and sentiment die in the brown paper, printed again from the cd. I then added the circle to the bottom right of the teapot used the circle to draw around another piece of patteren paper to pop into the middle Added the sentiment die sut again to the bottom of the first circle. Added the stamen die cut the top of the teapot to make the look of the edge of the teapot lid added pearls from the embellishment attic collection. Stamps some Dreamees flowers stamps onto the spotted paper using the brown ink pad again  layered these up for the 3d effect flowers, added a pearl to the centre of the largest one, added the sentiment die cut just above the small flowers. Then to finish added pearls to the spout and handle, and a fancy button for the teapot lid.

Tattered Lace - Fabulous Day!

Good Morning!

We've been working super hard on our upcoming C&C shows - we can't wait to share the new goodies with you!

Here's a card made for over on the Tattered Lace Blog

This card is a base of 14.5 square white card, matted with a blue border, then embossed white card using the Lace Medallion embossing folder, I then added a patterned paper from a Dreamees cd to the bottom half of the card. I then added some Embellishment Attic lace across the join.  Cut the tattered lace doily and heart swirls in the blue paper. I added the doily to the middle of the card then added my Sentiment plague from the cd over the top of the doily. I then stamped out my flower stamps from Dreamees, using a black inkpad, cut those out and layered up to make 3d flowers added these to the bottom left hand corner of the card, added the heart swirls coming out of the flowers to add interest. Also adding a  button to the largest flower centre, and pearls in the other two. Also adding tiny blue pearls around the sentiment, and the very tiny pearls in a little cluster to the top left of the card. Then 3 different sizes of buttons to the top right of the card to finish.

Splendour Butterfly

I've another project to share today, again using the latest Tattered Lace goodies!

For this card, I used the Tattered Lace Lacy Rose embossing folder and inked it with Victorian Velvet distress ink. I embossed the border die from the same set of folders and cut this out, leaving a bit of an edge above and below. Layered onto pink coordinating cardstock and attached across the centre of the card.
I used a scalloped circle die for my topper butterfly to sit on, and this was again the Build a Butterfly Splendour - gorgeous for layering! Inked again with Victorian Velvet, this is the perfect size for a topper!
I've added a fair few pearls around this to frame the image and one of our sentiments in the corner!

Hope you like it!!

Mini Mittens!

Good morning!

I've got some MDF mittens to share with you today:

These have been made using our MDF blank set of Mini Mittens.

The stamped flowers are our Ditsy Stitches which launched on Create & Craft on the 9th of December.

We've also used pearls and some twine to embellish (we'll be bringing the twine to C&C on the 2nd of Jan in our Rustic Ribbons selection!)

And finally, the tattered lace dies used were the Dotty Border and the Florentine Flourish.

Have a lovely day,

New Releases!

Good Morning!

I just wanted to share a couple of projects with you today to celebrate our new Christmas releases!

This card was made with some upcoming papers that will be on Create & Craft early October! I love the colours here so I've been using them on everything!

I've used the Partridge stamp onto Kraft card, cut it out in a tag shape and layered onto black card, repeating the tag shape.

This has been layered onto a doily and a little twine bow added (you can get twine in our lace & pearl packs from C&C!), I've also added a diamanté that I've coloured with a promarker - look out for these on our next C&C show!

When layering up the card, I've used a Black card base, Kraft card layer and then began with my backing papers. I stamped a Handwritten Sentiment in the top right of the card too, this one is my favourite to use!

The die used down the edge is the Dotty Border from Tattered Lace, cut from Kraft card again.

The flowers were made using the Poinsettia Layers - I stamped them onto white card and coloured with Poppy & Burgundy promarkers - the leaves are two petals from the image coloured with Pear Green promarker.

And finally, I die-cut some Frond Finesse Flourishes (Tonic) from black card to fill in!

I hope you like it :)

Tattered Lace Challenge: Decadence

Good Morning!

Well it's another month gone and another card for the Tattered Lace challenge. This month we've got the theme of decadence, and I'll be honest: I had to google it!
Here's our DT card:
So for this one, I went for a deep colour since Decadence is about indulging in luxury! And obviously, I went for the most luxurious topper I could find: our Dresser (which is one of my favourites!) I coloured it with some Promarkers and added a sprinkling of Diamond glitter to the purple parts.

I die-cut the topper using the Westminster die and layered it onto a wine piece of backing paper to highlight the detail - this was also distressed a little using Gathered Twigs.

I've used some seam binding for a bow (and of course the new bowmaker... which is incredible!) and added a metal charm too - with a pearl in the centre.

Backing papers are all from the Gorgeous Gifts CD rom which was recently added to our website, a doily and some Kraft card too!

I used the Chelsea corner to add some detail onto one layer (mid-right of the card), a couple of strips of the Scallop Border down the central layer too. And a couple of diamond hat-pins!

Finally, to embellish it all (apart from a few lines of pearls), I used the tatty flower from Large Essentials, stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento onto Kraft card and used the stamens to twirl 'puff-ball' flowers, the odd shop-bought blossom and then some ferns to fill in!

Hope you enjoy this months challenge over on the Tattered Lace blog!

See you soon,

Hayley xx

A Christmas MDF Clock!

Good Evening!

Wow, the storm has just subsided here and the entire time it was thundering and lightening, I was preoccupied with this gorgeous MDF clock from Inky Doodles!

I don't know if you caught Sarah's show earlier today, but it inspired me to dig out the clock that's been gathering dust for the past few weeks and put it to good use! So... here's my creation:

I've used some of our upcoming stamp sets which launch at 1pm on Tuesday on this - above, I covered the base layer in kraft card and stamped a snowflake stamp (from the Swirly Tree stamp set) with versamark, then I embossed it with clear to darken the snowflake a little. I wanted something subtle, that wasn't printed from a CD.

The next layer, I used Creative Expressions Double Sided Sticky Sheets to cover the entire layer in Treasure glitter! The next layer used some burgundy printed backing paper from the new Simply Christmas CD and then finally, I repeated the sticky-sheet step to add glitter to the roof! The circular clock piece, I covered again with burgundy paper and added pearls to the pre-marked holes for the numbers.

My 'pendulum' is a couple of the MDF tags that come in the set (I have LOTS left over too!) and these have been distressed using Gathered Twigs, stamped a bauble in Memento, heat embossed all over with clear powder and added some Treasure glitter with a quickie glue pen. I tied these on with a bit of garden string too!

The large floral decorations are from the Striped Delights stamp set, I stamped and embossed in Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold and glittered, added detail to the stamens or coloured with 'Ruby' promarker, to create the different coloured flowers.

The baubles are from the Decorative Baubles stamp set which launches on Tuesday, with these I heat embossed them in Cosmic Shimmer Bright Gold again and coloured with the Ruby promarker, then added a sprinkle of glitter!

Lots of pearls were added too, plus a sentiment from the Swirly Tree stamp set (O Christmas Tree)!

I hope you like it!

Have a fabulous weekend,

Tattered Lace Challenge: Elegance

Good Morning!

I'm a little later than usual with this months challenge at Tattered Lace which is Elegance... it's been so fun to make!

I sat down last night for all the cards I have to get done by tomorrow and came up with this one:

For this card, I've used some backing papers from our upcoming CD which launches on Create & Craft on the 4th of July (we're excited!). I also got a little overexcited about the new Tattered Lace Embossing folders which are the Pick of the Day on Tuesday 1st of July over on Ideal World, and grabbed the last in stock at Hobbycraft! This embossing folder is called Rose Garden and is absolutely beautiful!

I added a strip of Luxury Lace across the centre of all my layers which is available here!

My topper is our Elegant Dress stamp and has been paper pieced with some Lilac paper from the CD and overlayed with Diamond glitter! I die-cut it using the Scalloped Oval from the Kedleston set twice, once from lilac and once from white, trimmed around the decorative dots and then layered them on top of one another.

To embellish, I've used our Beautiful Blossoms stamp set, stamped onto patterned paper, creased down the centre of the petals and then layered up. Then to accent them, I've used the die that was free with the Tattered Lace magazine Issue 6 (Large Flourish)  - it's fabulous for chopping up and poking out of flower arrangements!

I've used the Chelsea corner die to embellish opposite corners to the two flower arrangements I made, and a pearl to accent it!

I hope you like it!

Have a wonderful week... I'll see you again soon (hoepfully!)

Glittery Shoes!

Good Morning!

I've got a card for you today and a little tutorial - I get asked such a lot at shows and via email about glittering with a double sided sticky sheet so here's my little 'how to'!

First off... here's my card!

For this one, I've used paper from Pretty Projects Templates & More in Lilac and my topper is the Dotty Shoes from our Handbags & Shoes stamp set! The glitter colour I used was Luxurious Lavender!

I used some of our Luxury Lace collection (which is almost out of stock at the moment on C&C!), some of the gorgeous Assorted Pearls (again, almost out of stock!) and some American Seam Binding for the bow/ribbon!

My sentiment is taken from the Butterflies stamp set and flowers to embellish are from the Large Essential Flowers, Beautiful Blossoms and then a couple of twirly roses from the CD.

And finally, a little key embellishment from our Lasercuts!

Right, now for my tutorial...

First off, I stamped out the image twice - once to colour and once to cut up.

I coloured the areas that I didn't want glittered with my Graph it markers on the first image.

Then, cut up the second image and put some of the double sided sticky sheet on top:

I peeled off the backing (I find it easier to take off the backing so I can see my lines properly rather than cutting through the backing sheet) and cut out the areas I had coloured on my first image.

Dunk it into the glitter (this one is Sea Breeze)

And then add the glittered shoes on top of the coloured shoes!

Then you'll get them to look like the ones on my card:

Hope that's a little bit of help if you weren't sure how I achieved this effect!

Have a fabulous day,

Hayley xx
