Tattered Lace Challenge: Elegance

Good Morning!

I'm a little later than usual with this months challenge at Tattered Lace which is Elegance... it's been so fun to make!

I sat down last night for all the cards I have to get done by tomorrow and came up with this one:

For this card, I've used some backing papers from our upcoming CD which launches on Create & Craft on the 4th of July (we're excited!). I also got a little overexcited about the new Tattered Lace Embossing folders which are the Pick of the Day on Tuesday 1st of July over on Ideal World, and grabbed the last in stock at Hobbycraft! This embossing folder is called Rose Garden and is absolutely beautiful!

I added a strip of Luxury Lace across the centre of all my layers which is available here!

My topper is our Elegant Dress stamp and has been paper pieced with some Lilac paper from the CD and overlayed with Diamond glitter! I die-cut it using the Scalloped Oval from the Kedleston set twice, once from lilac and once from white, trimmed around the decorative dots and then layered them on top of one another.

To embellish, I've used our Beautiful Blossoms stamp set, stamped onto patterned paper, creased down the centre of the petals and then layered up. Then to accent them, I've used the die that was free with the Tattered Lace magazine Issue 6 (Large Flourish)  - it's fabulous for chopping up and poking out of flower arrangements!

I've used the Chelsea corner die to embellish opposite corners to the two flower arrangements I made, and a pearl to accent it!

I hope you like it!

Have a wonderful week... I'll see you again soon (hoepfully!)

Glittery Shoes!

Good Morning!

I've got a card for you today and a little tutorial - I get asked such a lot at shows and via email about glittering with a double sided sticky sheet so here's my little 'how to'!

First off... here's my card!

For this one, I've used paper from Pretty Projects Templates & More in Lilac and my topper is the Dotty Shoes from our Handbags & Shoes stamp set! The glitter colour I used was Luxurious Lavender!

I used some of our Luxury Lace collection (which is almost out of stock at the moment on C&C!), some of the gorgeous Assorted Pearls (again, almost out of stock!) and some American Seam Binding for the bow/ribbon!

My sentiment is taken from the Butterflies stamp set and flowers to embellish are from the Large Essential Flowers, Beautiful Blossoms and then a couple of twirly roses from the CD.

And finally, a little key embellishment from our Lasercuts!

Right, now for my tutorial...

First off, I stamped out the image twice - once to colour and once to cut up.

I coloured the areas that I didn't want glittered with my Graph it markers on the first image.

Then, cut up the second image and put some of the double sided sticky sheet on top:

I peeled off the backing (I find it easier to take off the backing so I can see my lines properly rather than cutting through the backing sheet) and cut out the areas I had coloured on my first image.

Dunk it into the glitter (this one is Sea Breeze)

And then add the glittered shoes on top of the coloured shoes!

Then you'll get them to look like the ones on my card:

Hope that's a little bit of help if you weren't sure how I achieved this effect!

Have a fabulous day,

Hayley xx

Tattered Lace Challenge #3: Men & Boys

Morning everyone!

I can't believe we're already on month 3 of the Tattered Lace Challenge!

Before we get started with the card, the 'how-to' and what was used, I just want to clarify that we did pick a winner of the Lavish Blooms die set, though unfortunately the winner hasn't got back to me yet. I'll be resending the email to the winner today so keep an eye on your inboxes and I'll announce the winner as soon as I hear back!

Right, here we go... here's our entry to the Men & Boys challenge!

So for this card, I've used the gorgeous Campervan die from the Day's Out collection, I cut it out three times - once from white, blue and then black. I used the white as the base (added acetate behind the windows), blue from the bottom part and then cut out the wheels separately to go on top. I coloured in the centres of the wheels with a Black Graph-it marker.

All the papers I've used are from our Forever Florals Double CD which I've distressed around the edge with a Gathered Twigs ink pad. I also used a quickie glue pen through a mask in the top corner and added Twinklies glitter on top!

Now for the fun bit... We were lucky enough to get our Elegance Collection #2 dies yesterday (the POW on Create & Craft which includes Haddon, Hardwick, Kedleston and Chatsworth) and of course, we couldn't wait to get playing!

I've cut the Kedleston Scalloped Oval from white card and used some masks around the edge, this is a sneaky peek at something that may be coming to us soon! I distressed lightly first, then added my mask and distressed through it in the same colour. I then used the straight Oval to die-cut from patterned paper and added the Campervan on top.

I cut the middle & smallest Chatsworth square (just to try it... and then NEEDED to use it!) from white card and cut in half across the centre of each. Then I poked them in the opposite corners of the topper image as an embellishment.

I added a strip of white seam binding across the centre and made a bow too, just to embellish...

And obviously, I wanted to use all the new dies as soon as we got them (plus we got our order of the Blush Ebosser yesterday too... which is a dream to work with!) so I used the smallest Hardwick circle, trimmed off the outer edge and used it as a matt for my circle sentiment!

I think that's about it!

Hope you like the card and be sure to pop over to the Tattered Lace Challenge Blog to enter your card for this months challenge!

Have a fab day!
